Development Coordinator Responsibilities:

Data Management

  • Inputs donor and volunteer data into Donor Pro and creates financial and activity reports.
  • Analyzes data to create reports and make recommendations that have far reaching impact on the organizational direction of the Development Department.
  • Independently generates the reports necessary to make organization-wide fundraising decisions, and therefore, plays a pivotal role in raising funds.

Volunteer Management

  • Actively recruits new individual, group, and corporate volunteers and manages relationships with current volunteers.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and oversees all volunteer activities including evening activities, corporate volunteer days, and special events.
  • Actively works to turn volunteers into donors.
  • Provides leadership for volunteer and donor recognition events.

Writing and Marketing

  • Writes thank you letters, grant proposals, appeals, and other Development Department documents.
  • Manages Bradley’s Facebook page, relevant sections of Bradley’s website, and other social media.
  • Creates content for and manages a monthly internal and external newsletter.

Event Leadership

  • With the Director of Development and Event Leadership Team, plans, coordinates, and executes special events to raise funds and promote visibility.
  • Provides leadership for the Holiday Gift Drive and Holiday Gift Shoppe.
  • Networks with key volunteers and community members to host third-party fundraising events.

Support

  • Supports all Development Department functions including managing appeals, thank you letters, accurate data entry, and filing.
  • Manages calendars for the Development Department and the Director of Development.
  • Provides follow up for meetings with the Director of Development.
  • Develops and maintains a system for receiving, storing, and distributing all in-kind donations.
  • Manages other Development Department programs including the Pittsburgh Technical College birthday program, Beverly’s Birthdays program, holiday programs, Tickets for Kids and others.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and three to five years’ experience in fundraising/development and/or volunteer recruitment and support;

Experience in data entry, managing a data base, and generating reports;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Strong planning and organizational skills;

Ability to work with diverse groups and build strong relationships;

Highly organized and efficient; able to work on multiple project simultaneously;

Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends.
