Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh seeks a Senior Advancement Officer to join an expanding leadership gifts team focused on developing individual gifts. Successful candidate will have wide-ranging intellectual curiosity and interest in being an ambassador for programs in both the arts and the sciences. Responsible for articulating the cases for support and funding needs for Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and each of its four museums--Carnegie Museum of Art, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Science Center and The Andy Warhol Museum--and fostering robust relationships between donors and museum leadership. Responsibilities of the position include identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects primarily through personal visits. Responsible for the management of a portfolio of 150 to 200 major gift prospects with the capacity to make gifts of $25K or more. A bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience in individual fundraising, preferably in museums, arts or education, with strong emphasis on major gift cultivation and solicitation. Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Position requires an understanding of relationship building with donors and prospects; initiative; strong attention to detail; discretion in handling confidential information; and the ability to manage time in order to meet defined performance and activity goals. Familiarity with Pittsburgh funding community a plus.
